Renovate 1976 Holiday Ramblet

We were given this 1976 Holiday Ramblet. So far the biggest expense has been tires. We gutted the living area due to water damage. The kitchen cabinets are fine, I will sand and paint. The bathroom is scarey. The bedroom is dated and will be gutted due to water damage. For the most part the damage isn't horrible, just time consuming. The pics are before washing it and it looks somewhat bettter. Most of the water damage is under the front window where we have to replace most of the studs. We are also removing and covering all 3 sun lights. Should be quite the project. Input and advice are appreciated.

All I can say is, good luck! 😁 You must have skills, to take on something like this? I'd run away fast 😂

If the "bones" are good, this is a great way to get a camper customized to your individual desires. In 2015, we stayed overnight at a campground that had about a dozen HR trailers of this vintage as stationary rentals.

I can't even imagine tackling a project like that. Good for you.

Fresh water system

We found the fresh water container under one of the twin beds in the back. Looks intimidating. The pump/filter works, but we don't know how old it is and we'll just feel better to have it all new. Surprisingly the plywood floor has no water damage, but the floor joist seem a little soft. So we will check that and eventually this area will have a queen bed.

Front area and kitchen

Thank you for your comments and encouragement. Maybe we won't push it off the trailer and take it to the dump. This is the front area with the most damage. We were a little surprised there isn't more damage. We will mostly rebuild the front wall. We have read these front windows leak often. We are thinking about closing it off. We just haven't decided. The roof has leaks around sky lights, and the kitchen will come out, the fridge was massive, we ripped it out and pushed it out the door. We are a decade from retirement, so we work on it when we can. Hope to have it usable in 6 months. I don't know why the pics rotate after I upload them.

Electric box

Looks old, antiquated, but it does work. We plan to keep it.
