Replace toilet? Turn existing toilet 45 degrees?

I've got a Dometic plastic round bowl toilet which I really despise, that came with my 17 Forest River Vibe. Its great for women and children, I'm sure - but guys get the sitting issue with these. I wanted to replace it with a ceramic elongated Dometic 320. That is, until I looked at the requirements: 11" from the flange to the back wall. I only have 8.5! Their 310 model still requires 9.5" or so. So, I guess those are out unfortunately. Unless someone else has any other ideas ..sans rebuilding the floor and moving the flange.

The other thing I thought of is that (see photo of messy bathroom for overhead pic of how it is set up) - what if I were top angle the existing toilet 45 degrees? I have the room . It wouldn't solve the round bowl, or plastic issue - but it would give more leg room so it wasn't right up against the wall? Should this be as simple as cutting off the water, removing the flange bolts, and repositioning them at 45 degrees, then re-tightening, etc? Any issues with this you can think of?

Maybe I'm missing something but it appears that turning it 45 degrees would give less leg room?

To answer your question, if there is room to rotate the toilet without hitting the wall and the floor flange spins on the fitting or is threaded and can be spun 45 degrees, yes it should be that simple. Of course a water line mod will need to be made, but that should be simple too.
Provided you are handy. Some of the easiest things are rocket science to the inept. If your comfortable, pull the toilet off the floor and look at what you have underneath it.
My concern is the toilet hitting the walls when spun.

I think that I saw a toilet flange at Home Depot that had an offset of about an inch but I am not sure if that would work for you

First. to the O/P. May I say I fully support your actions and for the same reasons.. Also if you ever find the idiot who came up with the idea of carpeting the riser that thign mounts on Please HANG HIM. thank you. not really but in effegy perhaps).

You will likely have to replace the flange. Odds are the bolts wont line up after the twist but so long as you have room GO FOR IT, then GO ON IT.
