You say pulls OK. What is the problem you are trying to solve?

No it is the 5.3, pulls good suspension just feels a little soft. 62 to 65 mph all good just has a little more rear end bounce.

thats the problem i had and the air bags helped a bunch. i don't think i would be comfortable pulling 8000# with my 5.3. it works hard going up a 6or 7% grade for a couple miles. what year is yours?

I've used the Air Lift air bags & later, the Sumos. Hands down the Sumos are superior. (Read their website & 3rd party owner reviews.)
Air springs require continual adjustment, install is more involved and air lines, fittings are susceptible to leaking, as system ages.
Sumo rebound cushions, (I recommend the black - 1,500 lb.)
Install is very simple to. Unloaded, your truck will ride as normal. Once your rear end goes down 1-1/2", the Sumos engage. The support increases progressively. It's a set it and forget it system. I believe you will be happy.
Another thing I suggest uou consider is Bilsien 4600 shock absorbers - all around. (GM - O.E.M. shocks are marginal at best.)
This combination will improve the condition you described dramatically.
(I won't get in to the 1/2 ton - 3/4 ton stuff as it is not related to your question....I pull a 9100lb, loaded, A.F. TT with a Chevy 2500 H.D.)
Good luck you, happy travels and be safe.

I apologize for the grammatical errors in my original post above, (sent from my phone).
Oh, I have a complete Air Lift 5K system that I will be selling soon, (only slightly used).

2020, I don't plan on going more than a few hundred miles from home. This is our 6 th rv. Thoughts are to set on a seasonal site around Marblehead. Love fishing Erie. About 6 months away from retirement

I installed Sumo Springs on our travel trailer and believe the hype. Night and day difference.

I have a 2017 ford f350 dually and tow a 43' fifth wheel toyhauler. I installed timbrens on my truck and they work great.

What difference does it make whether it's diesel or gas? The engine has nothing to do with trailer weight.

I installed the SUMO 1500# on my '18 F150 without the 1" extension so it doesn't constantly contact the axle unless I hitch up the trailer. Drives normal most of the time but it keeps the truck level when hitched up. I have a '23' Keystone Passport 189RB which I installed the Roadmaster shocks on both axles so between both modifications it noticeably reduces the bouncing around. Felt more confident going to Alaska last fall and boondocking in Utah this spring. Very happy with both.

If you are running the stock tires, consider going to load range E.I have a 2015 Silverado Z71 1/2 ton with the HD tow package. I installed Timbrens and it helped somewhat. The load range E tires made a BIG difference. The stock tires will squat and give you the ride you are feeling.

I pull a 30ft Wildwood with a F150. I installed the Timbrens and it made a big difference especially in the leveling of the trailer to the truck.
Make sure to understand if you need both "Hocky Pucks" on each side. I only needed one. The second would have made it too stiff when I wasn't pulling.

Ok so just got back from trip, I installed monroe coil shocks in the back with sumo springs and 1 in spacer. Trailer does seem to move me a little in a 15 mph wind. Running 62 to 65. Prefer 2 lane highway over interstate. But seems front end is soft. Opinions on new front struts.
