Rubber spring assists

I'm pulling a 33 ft Rockwood 2016 around 8000# 2020 Silverado 1500 4 pt sway control. Everything pulls ok ,but just wondering if the rubber Timbrens would help out?

Several post here about Timbren's being an awfully hard compound.
Sumo's seem to get better reviews. Three harnesses available.

i use air bags you can fill them when you need or empty when you don't need them, and adjust them just how you want them. i carry a bicycle tire pump to air them up if needed. i tow 6500# with a 1500 i wouldn't consider 8000# and 33'.

I sometimes pull a 10k car hauler (8xxx-9xxx lbs on the trailer axles) and use a Husky Centerline TS wd hitch with 1200 lb bars. I can load the trailers deck for any hitch weight needed.
Too much pogo sticking so gave etrailer.com a 1-800. They suggested the SUMO for my use.
No more pogo sticking and rides much smoother.

They can't hurt though, ultimately, that is a lot of trailer for a half ton.....I've also heard good things about Sumo but haven't tried them.

I tow with a set of blue Sumo's. On my truck they act as a much more progressive bump stop so that when the axle runs into the stops it is much less harsh. Previously it was much more jarring. Well worth the money for me.

Why is "that is a lot of trailer for a half ton" ? Almost all of that model are rated for near 10k and some as high as 12k. Why do you think his 8k trailer is too much?

because axle ratings are a thing and softer suspensions dont handle a big sail all that well.

Because I wouldn't be surprised if the cargo capacity of the truck has been exceeded. On most 1/2 ton trucks, cargo capacity is used up long before tow capacity is.

Tow capacity is just one number. GCWR is another, and most importantly (since it's usually the smallest number) the cargo capacity.

Thats my thoughts, my truck is rated at 11,600 pds . Fully loaded I'm around 70% of tow capacity. Just want to be mote comfortable. This is our second go round. Start years ago in a tent, popup 30Tt 32 ft fw. Sold out kids moved out now here we are again. Same cycle minus 5th wheel.

yeah but the only numbers that really actually matter are axle and tire ratings. after that, anything can be manipulated.

I put Sumos on my ram2500 … they soften the bumps by extending the effective range of the bump stops
