I used to be a very active glider pilot... and I used laminated check lists for assembly and disassembly and trailering. This I decided was a good thing to do after I assembled the glider for the first time and was pulling it out to the flight line. We went across a minor bump and the right flap drooped about 80 degrees! The linkage was not properly fastened... and that could have been my last flight. I was interrupted during assembly, and had 3 of the 4 control pins in. In my excitement of flying my new ship for the first time, I went from there and did everything else... all the while holding the forth control pin in my hand...
And... YES! I'm old... There I said it! Happy now?!?!
