RV rookies with a Bowlus Endless Highways

Hi, new to RV life and this forum. We've been out twice in our Bowlus and were hoping there are some other Bowlus owners who can share some of their experiences. Thanks.

There are not a lot of Bowlus trailers around. I doubt that I have seen 1 per year for all of my years traveling in RVs. Good luck with your adventures!

My guess is that most people with $250K to spend on an RV would rather buy a Class A DP.
I doubt you'll ever hear from another Bowlus owner on hear.

No matter the size, shape, color, construction materials, you are still in a travel trailer and the experience is basically the same. The difference comes in operation, towing, maintenance, and things that are peculiar to the RV at hand. ie; rivets popping

If you are new to rv's I highly suggest the Long Long Honeymoon videos on Youtube as they are generally enjoyable to watch and very informative. Sean and Kristy travel much of the year from their home in North Alabama, in a 2003 Airstream 25 ft model, to various parts of the US, and offer travel information and operation and maintenance advise on your trailer.

I suggest seeking out specialty forums and newletters. The Bowlus gets discussed sometimes on the Airforum.com (use your same log in as irv2) usually in the vintage section or the off topic section.

At the bottom of the page there is a sign up form for the Bowlus newsletter.

You have spent a lot of money on this trailer, and while I have no experience with it, I highly suggest looking into getting the ceramic spray coating being done on many Airstreams now.

Thanks for the reply. It would be nice if Bowlus would have a forum. We will keep an eye out but I think you are probably correct that we won't find anyone.

We have found that the birds can get confused b/c they do reflect quite a bit. I think one bird though it was another bird in his territory and kept pecking at the trailer.

Thank you Charles for your kind and thoughtful response. We did check with Bowlus about ceramic coating and they didn't advise it, probably b/c they haven't experimented with it sufficiently to have an opinion. We will have to watch for further developments.

Appreciate the tip on the youtube videos and the bowlus newsletter link. Not sure how we missed the newsletter/blog. Thank you!

We are looking forward to learning. I tell people at the campsites that we are new and they have been very helpful.

Speaking of birds, I made a trip in April to a COE campground a couple of hours away. I was awaken in the morning by a bird attacking the window on the back which is over the head of the bed. I finally realized I have the reflective thermal glass that Bigfoot installs and the bird was probably attacking itself.
