Screen door latch replacement?

I read a post about a year ago about a solution for the latch on travel trailer screen doors. We have replaced ours a couple of times and the screws keep coming loose and it won't shut and stay shut properly.

Someone had posted a work around / solution but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas? I don't want to just keep replacing the same old handle!

Thanks

A picture would help, but if your screen door is like ours you can run fasteners right through instead of using enlarged holes from previous fixes... Nylock nuts on suitable length screws and waaalaaa... problem solved.

If the old screw holes are to big I will use some wood to make the screen tight. Wood like a tooth pick broken in 1/2.

Thinking about your situation I would look for plastic like a plastic screw anchor cut in half. Or heck, even a small screw anchor.

I agree with CARS. Just drill all the way through and bolt it.

the screen door on our Passport is hokey at best. the pull handle has 2 screws that are just sized enough to hold on, but pull off if someone pulls hard. Also no real way to adjust the striker.
