Securing Propane Tank Cover?
During the PDI I did not see a way to secure this from thief or even blowing off while traveling.
How are y'all keeping these secure?

For safety reasons the shut off valves should be easily accessible. That’s why the compartment doesn’t lock on rigs with internal tanks. If tongue mounted, a Cable and lock run thru the tops of the cylinders and around the RV frame will stop any casual thief . Haven’t really considered it a big concern since there really isn’t a huge black market for stolen propane cylinders.

Covers will not come off while traveling...they are 'tight' around the cylinders
Have you tried to remove yours?
Covers...theft-----not much of a market
Portable Cylinders....theft----you bet, crack heads/meth labs
*most thefts are while in storage facilities not while camping

The access cover will blow off if you don’t have hinge forward and the thumbscrews secured.

Depends on type of cover. The typical plastic one with a door on the top is a pretty tight fit. Our door fell off years ago, the cover itself was held by a bungee cord. I haven't used the bungee for a few years and never noticed the cover even move.

Friction holds the cover tight.

If your really worried, you can always drill a couple of holes near the bottom edge of the cover and use a short bungee to hold it down..
Been using ours for about 5 years and have never had the cover come off..

When the person pulled it off during the PDI it appears to come off pretty easy.

There may be two plastic tabs with holes on each side at the bottom. You can use long zip ties to secure it if you are concerned.

Every one I've seen had plastic tabs on the bottom middle, a short bungee cord between them running under the metal pan the bottles are on will work.
If no tabs, you can drill a couple of holes, one front and one back and do the same thing.

I did see the tabs at the bottom. I have a selection of bungee cords in the truck already.

Yes, they will sometimes come off in a very strong headwind -- you can sometimes see them on the side of the road. It's rare, but it happens.
I drilled a hole in the bottom of my tank cover and put a little clip in the hole. A bungee would work, too.
