I thought I read a post by you saying that the new composite siding is the best thing since sliced bread. This unit is ONE YEAR old. Already compromised and the fix will not be cheap..

I don't know if I'd say sliced bread. I said it was easier to work on, and if under warranty will be fixed. I had a much much more serious issue than this and they fixed it up for me,

Update: Dealer and manufacturer both stepped up bigtime. Neither was obligated to do anything. But between the two of them, Forest River and Fun Town RV in Cleburne TX are going to cover the cost of the repair. They're going to cut out the fiberglass locally and re-build it, so it's less expensive than a full panel replacement but still looks and functions good as new. I'm very fortunate and very appreciative for both of them and especially for Fun Town, who really worked hard to get me taken care of and exceeded all of my expectations. I should be picking up the unit this week.

For the record, I'm normally one of those guys who can be a jerk-wad to a dealer if I don't get my way, but I didn't have to hardball Fun Town at all. I explained the situation and Sara Jane promised me that she would work her butt off to make sure I was taken care of, and she did. This is a huge worry gone so we can go camping without being concerned about structural problems or a big expensive repair bill down the road.
