We are looking at another option. We don’t think we can do the Winnebago micro Minnie this year due to lack of inventory and cost so we are now looking for the smallest travel trailer that can sleep 4 in beds. Two adults and two girls 9 and 11. Winnebago brand would be fine but other brands that make a ultra lite trailer that is less than 19 ft 1 queen bed and 2 other single beds whether bunk or otherwise. Need a bathroom of any size and situation is adequate and a kitchen of any size is fine too. Any recommendations? Having a hard time finding a layout for 4 in the small size travel trailers does anyone make one?

If I remember your previous post, you need something that is very lightweight. If so, aside from recommending that you look at a used unit, consider either a pop-up trailer or smaller hybrid trailer. The smaller hybrid trailer can still have at least two good sized bunks.

We started camping in 1988, and until our older son headed off to college, we had a Starcraft pop-up with a 10' box. The boys used the king sized bed, and my wife and I used the smaller bed (cozy, but doable!).

If we were starting out today, I would probably consider a hybrid in order to gain a full bathroom. But there are pop ups that have at least toilet facilities or a wet bath.

You might get better help by sharing what your maximum towing weight is and/or tow vehicle.

I had a popup for a while, it had the dinette set on a slide, so it seemed roomy. Front bed was a King, rear a queen, plus a "couch" that could sleep one and the dinette table could convert to a bed to sleep a smaller person, for when the kids want to bring along a friend.

New a guy who had a hybrid - he towed it with a Honda Odyssey. He struggled to tow it, one of those cases where just because the numbers said it was a match to tow, didn't mean it was so. (He did use a WD hitch.)

Have you looked at the Rockwood Geo Pro. Seeing a lot of these on the road.

Just know that when camping with kids, the family will not be spending much time inside the trailer unless it’s raining, so space isn’t as great a concern as it may seem. After having a truck camper, Our first family RV was a pop-up with removable dinette, and a port-a-potty. Mostly everybody used the public outhouses, except mom, who couldn’t stand that. So, she just pulled the curtain inside and used the porta. The extra chore of having to empty the porta every two days was worth it to get the family out camping. Towed it with our small van. Years later, we traded for motorhome with bunks. Recommend you get something like that and get out there and start having fun. You can always trade up later.

The smallest one I know of is a Scamp 13, Layout 1. 54" rear bed & 2 bunk beds in front. You have to be willing to live with a Wet bath.

Just to add to this, i knew a family of 4 who camped for several years in a 13 ft. Scamp. Don’t know how they did it but I think I would look for a 17 ft CASITA if you can find one in your price range. Queen in back for you and the wife and table comes down for a cozy bunk for the kids. When they get a little bigger you can always get all or most of your money back and go for something bigger.

Very similar to a coleman lantern 17b
Both can accommodate a family of 4.

We found a 2018 rpod 171 in Florida on rvtrader for 14k. We like the teardrop style we don’t mind a wet bath we will be mainly using it to sleep in and prepare food only if weather is bad outside. We are a close family so the size is ok and we wanted something that doesn’t feel scary to tow since we are inexperienced. Going to Yellowstone and grand Tetons from Washington maybe 2 weeks in September so only dry camping there I think and then hoping to drive going to the sun road we hear it’s narrow but doable? Then back to Washington and maybe part of Oregon and part of California. Total of 2 months on the road. We are going to tow it with a Ford F-150 or Toyota Tundra but like the idea that we can tow it with something smaller if necessary. We wanted dual axles but not affordable right now and we can always move into a bigger one at the end of the season right? Opinions?

We looked at an RPod though I think it was a larger model. Thought it was pretty nice and they sure look good in the campground.

You know, when the kids were young, we used to sleep four or five in a 9x12 tent and had a ton of fun camping. Just because it is on an axle doesn't mean it has to be huge to have fun times.

We are in Hawaii so our plan was to have a friend in Florida that knows RV look at it pick it up for us and store it until November and then another friend on the east coast was going to drive it down to Washington for us and we would store it on a family property in WA until we come summer of 2022. What could go wrong? ��FL seemed good because their were a lot of rvs there and they seemed cheaper than in WA but it would be ideal if we could get it in Oregon or Washington…if you have suggestions we are all ears…

The way the market is in the present, most suppliers are 6 months or more behind. So you will probably compromise to find something acceptable that is available, rather than looking for a specific company. If that is so, then it might just be best to keep looking at forums like RVT.com or trader.com, and good local dealers. Many manufacturers seem to be making bunkhouse versions of their smaller trailers, from about 18' & up.
