Smell from repairs

Purchased a Cross Roads Sunset Trail a year ago from a private owner. Owner said large branch fell on the roof and had dealer replace entire roof. The trailer had been closed up for a year before we bought it. There has been a adhesive smell that we cannot get rid of. One dealer I spoke with said " China smell" from the adhesive that was used in the repair. Since then we have tried everything we can think of to get rid of it from 2 oz cans of oder eliminator at $25.00 to washing it down with vinegar. Nothing works (as of yet). Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Nil Odor usually works but it sounds as though you may have tried this.
Baking soda, coffee. It should eventually outgas completely and the smell disappear. Not sure how long this will take. Like a new car smell it eventually goes away. Try just leaving the doors and windows open. It may take several weeks.

Welcome to the gang here. There is likely someone here that has had the same issue and found a solution.
Good luck.

I rented an ozone machine (or something like that - ozone generator?) from a rental yard to get rid of cigarette smell in a rental house. Left it in there running for about a week and the smell went away. Might look into that.

+! on the ozone generator. That is what a lot of dealerships would do if it were a trade in.

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry your first post is about problems .

Being closed up for a year has compounded this problem .
Since it was the roof repaired , the odor may be in the " attic " for lack of a better term . If you have multiple roof vents drop the plastic trim and see if any have enough clearance, between the insulation and the roof to place a small fan to circulate the air though the attic quickly with the trim removed , and the doors and windows open.
Have you had all the drawers out of the cabinets , to check the floor everywhere in the RV for possible hidden spilled adhesive ?

EDIT: Boy I type slow 4 other members posted while I was typing.

That will probably work.

Went on a cruise ship and our room had been smoked in a LOT from the previous guest. I requested a new room but they said to let them try to clear it out.

They ran an Ozone machine in there for three hours and the smell went away completely. I was amazed as the stench had been pretty bad.

Home Depot rents Ozone machines.

Be careful with the ozone generator as ozone attacks rubber and can release formaldehyde when it contacts certain VOCs. You should never use it when you will be staying in the room.

Absolutely. Do NOT get carried away with the ozone generator. Follow all instructions and runtimes carefully.

Ozone is a potent oxidizer. In addition to rubber, it can corrode metal. Remove house plants before use. Do not breathe it, even small amounts can damage the lungs and aggravate existing conditions like asthma.

Well rented the Ozone Generator for a week and ran it everyday for a 12 hour cycle, the opened the windows to air out. I removed the ceiling lights and let them hang and removed vent frames. As of a week it has removed probably 90% of the orders. Still have some smell at the door area so thinking about opening up the door frame to allow it to vent out. Thanks everybody for the ideas ! Now just waiting for the campground to open in Michigan.

I use vinegar.
Just put some on the stove and let simmer.
If you can put a fan on the floor and let blow on high.
