I’ve never towed south from Cincinnati in February before. We have reservations on the FL panhandle mid-week. By then, we may have 10” of snow on our camper roof. Probably will be light stuff with it being so cold, but not guaranteed.

If roads are clear enough, I might still tow, but not sure how a top heavy load will handle on a light weight, tow behind camper.

Anyone have experience?

Your supposed to remove the snow.

Its dangerous to have chunks of snow falling/blowing off your vehicle on to following or opposing traffic.

A ladder and a broom is all you need.

Never really thought about it ! I'm heading to Florida on Wednesday- I currently have about 6 in on the Roof and more coming in Monday. Usually blows off the first 2 miles or so on the Interstate. On my Motor Home I'm not too concerned, But in your case I might be.
One inch of snow weighs 1.66 pounds per square foot. Calculate the additional weight and proceed from there.

I never heard of it with a camper, but I have heard of a law suit brought because of snow and ice blowout off another vehicle causing an accident. I believe it came off a semi.

I also think snow load would be an issue.

Either way, I would not take the chance.

11 States have laws against it.

Up to $1000. fines.

Probably not to many southern states.

If going down I-75 you have to go over Jellico mountain there at the Kentucky- Tenn state line. Be careful going down thru there with the weather. Our seasonal site is in Wilmington, 45 miles north of the ballpark up I-71.
Just keep an eye on the weather, road conditions before you depart.

$500 fine in Minnesota. I've seen some nasty accidents from snow blowing off of roofs.

Yes, please clear it all off before you hit the road. It may look like 'fluffy' snow, but quite often the layer against the roof partially melts then re-freezes into ice chunks. The ice chunks become deadly projectiles when they fly off going down the road and can shatter the the windshileld of another vehicle.

Even if there is no ice in it, the snow will likely blow off in large chunks or sheets, which could completely cover the windshield of another vehicle making the driver blind.

People have died because others won't take the time to clear off the snow.. Please clear it off.

Yeah you would lower the visibility behind you due to the snow think Blizzard! Also if ice chunks cause serious injuries or death not worth it. Think dash cameras are everywhere.
Just my .02 your ideas will vary.
