Solar ready?

Our new Clipper is suppose to be solar ready and it takes an 80Watt panel. Of course the only trip we have taken in it was bringing home Thursday. And that was 'interesting'.

Where would I put panel without causing a leak or hitting a wire?

Often solar ready only means they have ran a wire from the roof to the battery compartment for you, and then need to add your own solar panel, mounting brackets and charge controller. I assume the 80 watt part is they sized those wires for an 80 watt panel which is a bit small these days. You can buy an import panel with mounting brackets and charge controller in that size range for about $100 on ebay these days.

Does it have the "Zamp Solar ready" logo sticker and a plug for it? Just get a 120watt Zamp Solar portable panel. It comes with the controller already attached to the panel. Just open it up, plug it in and set it directly in the sun. Good to go.
