Sunset Trail Grand Reserve or Surveyor

We are thinking about purchasing a Cross Roads Sunset Trail 33SI or a Surveyor 33KRLOK. Both are similar in size. Which company makes a better product. I have two friend who both have 10 year old Surveyors. I am not too familiar with the Cross Road brand. Our local dealer carries the Cross Road. The Surveyor dealer is a couple hours away. The Grand Reserve is loaded with everything including automatic self leveling stabilizers. The Surveyor had manual jacks. The Surveyor has a king bed and the Grand Reserve has a queen. Everything else is pretty close to the same. Which one in your opinion is better built.

I purchased a Sunset Trail 221BH last September, and have been happy with the build quality so far. That said, I whole-heartedly believe that each trailer can be a lemon, and that you need to inspect them very closely, the specific one you are going to purchase.

I could not find the trailer I purchased nearby, and bought it from a dealer 3 hours away.... the awning lights where bad at pickup, so they where going to order new ones... I went to schedule the install when I would be driving thru a month later - they had neglected to order the lights, and I had to send them pictures of the failed lights, and they wanted me to make another trip to just change the lights... yeah... not going to deal with a long distance dealer in the future...

I have heard plenty of good things about Surveyor's , and would certainly consider one, if it was outfitted as desired...
Sorry if this does not help, but do consider this a word of encouragement for Crossroads Sunset Trail build quality, but , inspect, inspect, inspect.

I can't speak for the new Surveyors, but we bought a 2007 Surveyor SV291 brand new and loved it for seven years until it was totaled in a storm. A tree longer than the trailer took a nose dive from about sixty feet and went through the roof. The impact separated the street side wall from the from the trailer.
But the trailer was great and we would still have it if we could. It was very easy to pull.
We never had any manufacturing issues.

I have a 2007 Surveyor SV291 and we love it, we bought it used this year after it had been sitting for a few years, put new tires and new awning on it and re caulked the roof. We love it and so far have had no issues with it. I cant speak for the new ones but we have been thru many of the new Surveyors and they are super nice.
