Thetford toilet

We have a 2016 sport trek with a Thetford toilet. It has never been 100% at holding water in the bowl but it was about 90% Recently the waste ball valve broke and I replaced it along with a new seal. It held water at home for a week but as soon as we went camping it wouldn’t hold water for more than about 5 minutes. So I replaced the waste valve and the seal again even applying plumbers Grease to the valve and the seal. Two hours later it’s empty again. I’m honestly ready to throw this thing into the dumpster unless someone has any ideas???

Here's a link to their customer service page:https://www.thetford.com/customer-support/contact-us/

The phone number with the 734 area code is corporate headquarters but I'm assuming that the 800 number rings to the same phone but I don't know for sure.

Personally I think there is something else wrong with your toilet or you aren't installing the valve correctly. Talk to them the most it can cost you is a phone call.

Well I hope this helps someone else out. The problem ended up being that the waste valve was “closing “ to far and not sealing I ended up cutting a small piece of plastic shim and glued it to the toilet where the waste ball arm stops. This 1/16”. Shim has solved the problem for abut three cents.

Many are simply replacing the Theford with a Dometic 300 series. Unfortunately I'm starting to see some complaints about them as well but not nearly as many. We are still using a Thetford, the third one after 2 warranty replacements. The next, not sure what the next will be as repair parts for Dometics are impossible to find now that they are no longer sold as SeaLand
