Ditto. If I had brand new cheapy tires on my trailer, they'd get swapped out before the first trip. There are places to save money; trailer tires aren't one of them IMO

I'm just getting ready to take my TT off on its first run next month. It has Towmax STRs on it dated from 4017, so am trying to decide if I need to replace them before going on a long trip. There's no visual cracking and they don't look like they've been run much, but I'm thinking the peace of mind on a long haul might be worth replacing them with a set of Endurance tires. Thoughts?

Obviously those tires need yo be replaced.

Now I'm funny about tires and brakes. I want high quality in both. Currently, I feel the Goodyear Endurance tires are pretty much the best going in ST type tires. That what I plan to put on my new trailer next year.

If I were you, I would also move up from Load Range C tires to LR D.

I currently have ST205/75R14 LR D tires, of Castle Rock fame.
When I do replace them, I'm going to look at ST215/75R14 LR D tires, if they will fit. I like as much safety margin as I can get.

What are my date codes you ask? 4212. So that combined with what looks to be some sidewall cracks has me looking for ST205/75R14LC around the internet.
Tire rack.com has some for 76$ each while Amazon has sets of 4 (obviously Chinese imports) for $229..

Have/would anybody you run budget tires and what was your experiences?

Oct. of this year you will be at 4 years so they should be good for this year. Personally I replace the tires at 4 1/2 to 5 years max. Don't cheap out on tires because things get REAL pricey when they fail. I run Goodyear G114 on my rig. These are 17.5" load range H tires. They run about $400 each so it is a good size hit but with 4 years to save it is not bad. I could go with a different brand but I'm happy with the GY so why take a chance with something different? Just my opinion.

Carlisle CSL 16

I am currently running a Westlake 225/75r 15 and fully intend to run them out, had them off the ground last week and can’t find a blemish. After 40 + years in the Class 8 truck industry, I am having trouble with getting my head around why so many ST tires are designed with lug type tread such as the Goodyear Endurance. In my mind there is suppose to be a rib type tread back there. Please hold the “China Bomb” comments.
Carlisle CSL 16 looks more like a trailer tire to me, not sure if it’s still made in China. Carlisle has been producing trailer tires in Tennessee for years now and at last press release they where expanding production of ST type tires. The weight of the tire is 45 lbs. and the Endurance comes in at 35lbs.. Would the weight alone make this a better constructed tire? Anyone have experience with this tire selection good or bad?

I recently changed to Carlisle Radial Trail HD Trailer Tire-225/75R15 117M 10-ply they have a combination rib/lug pattern.

I specifically looked for the 117M as they are 81mph rated, the 117L are 75mph (both better them the standard 65mph ratings on many trailer tires).

That said I only have about 500 miles on them, but they have been great so far. Construction appears to be a lot better than the literal bombs (3 exploded in less than 1k miles) I replaced.

I just bought five of those about a month ago off the Wal-Mart website for $69.xx a piece and had them delivered to my house. They all had a date code of the last week of 2020. I am getting them mounted in about a month. They're rolling out to the western states from Michigan in August for a five week trek so I figured new rubber was due.

I have close to 12,000 on the Raniers that came on my 2016 TT that sat for two years before I became the first owner of it. Those had a date code of mid November 2015.

Maxxis M8008 tires , they are one of 2 tires that I will install on trailers with smaller tires. You can find them on Amazon and other places. You can get them direct from Maxxis.com at a higher price. These are steel belted radial tires and have served me well , I have not pushed them past 7 years . Yes they have a higher speed rating then most tires in there class.

For Me price isnt as important as the cost of a repair after you have a tire blow out. Tire blow out can bend axles , destroy your camper and at a bare min need to replace the fender skirt at the cost of abut $100 each.... save on tires , Not on my stuff !

Last week I got a call from a Co-worker on a trip down south. His camper was built in March 2018 and has a single 4400lb axle with 15" 225 tire. He had two tires fail in three days (different times) . He was luck to have a Goodyear tire dealer 3 miles down the road on the 2nd tire failed. But 2 fender skirts and belly rap was torn up on both side of his RV. They where Nylon belted crap tires that had 80 PSI on every trip and didn't so signs of failed. He said about 1/2 hour before they exploded he notice a slight vibration when I question him about the warning signs he ignored.(didn't know better)

Depends on rim width. The 205 is the largest tire that will fit on a 5 inch wide rim. you need a 5˝ or greater rim width for the 215 tire.

The steel rims on my new 2021 Freedom Express 20SE are 5.5" wide. I also plan to look at GY Endurance ST215/75R14 LRD tires in a year. If they don't fit, I'll drop back to ST205/75R14 LRD tires.

bought 2 of the same exact carlisle radials the op got on monday.
St205-75-r14 from amazon
Came home to tires on the porch....One of them looks like a nice tire Made 5020 so fresh enough. The other was a tractor tire
Straight grooves no cross tread pattern front tire for a tractor! Now i have to send the wrong tire back and wait till monday to get my other new tire. The correct one mounted up easy enough. The new ones have 100 lbs more weight rating than the kr35 karriers, curiously the kr35s were c rated and the carlisle are D. The kr35s were manufactured in 2017 but one of them has a consistent leak which was real annoying on a 2700 mile trip last summer. As for the spare it looks like it has possible belt separation.
I decided to get 2 new tires for $156 total including new valve stems and ditch 2 of 3 of the kr35s. Which were manufactured 3017. The kr35s are chinese. But so are the carlisles if i can get 4-5 seasons out of the carlisles i will be happy for $156.
I am keeping the one good kr35 as a spare. I will probably replace it spring 2022.
