To lube or not to lube

I have read opinions on both sides regarding lubrication on slide-out tracks. I understand the arguments that some products will pickup dust/grit. But I'm a firm believer that metal-on-metal moving parts always need at least a dry lube.

What are you guys doing? If you do lube, what are you using?

I lube mine and have never had any issues. I have to think that unless you are using it in very dusty conditions or constantly driving it on dusty roads that you will never see any issues. I have been told that you SHOULD NOT lubricate screw jacks on stabilizers because the friction of metal/metal holds the stabilizers tight. If you lube them, they will loosen up. It makes sense to me...

I use a silicone spray I get at HD.

Never been an issue with sticking or noise. Ever.

I have the slide tracks that look like a hundred S's. They say not to lube them.

I don't.

I'd go out and count them but its snowing. First time I'v seen snow in 10 years, since I started snowbirding.

Those are not S's, they are dollar signs. Surprised a boater didn't recognize them.
