Tongue jack with 7 pin connectors

Hello, I am replacing an electric jack and the jack I bought has a 7 pin connector. In order to get this jack to work, how do I wire it to my battery? Do I need to wire a 7pin connector to my battery and attach it to the frame of my TT? Or just return it and get a different jack. Any help is appreciated!

I guessing this type just plugs into your tow vehicle when you need it.

You have some choices....

1)use as intended
2)hard wire a 7-pin female connector to battery
3)remove the connector and wire to battery
4)exchange for a hard wire unit.

Thanks, I knew my options but I’m not sure how to wire a 7 pin connector to my battery? If I can’t figure that out I will exchange it!!

I bet there is only a red positive wire and a black or green ground wire for the jack.there are not going to be 7 wires.

You can find wiring diagrams for 7 pin connectors and wire accordingly.

Not difficult and there should be an online fuse on the positive wire.

Can you give us the brand and model number of the jack? I'm not sure why a jack would have a 7 pin connecter.

How many wires are in the cable? My guess is two, a positive and a negative.

It' for plugging into the tow vehicle for power rather than being hard wired to the trailer battery.

Yes, of course. I'm thinking only travel trailers, that have power. Work trailers would not have power, so you would need to plug into the truck.

I think I would return it and get a jack that has just a hot wire to hook up. The jack would be grounded to the frame of the TT when bolted up. That's how mine is.

Towing master #10201011. 3500 pound tongue jack 12V DC with 7 pin connector. My mother in law picked it up for us knowing ours stopped working from Rural King.

It stopped working. I have checked everything I know to check and it won’t work. I even replaced the up/down toggle switch and nothing.

I would suspect that there is only 1 wire going to the 7 prong plug and that wire goes to the center post which is the battery. I would just cut the plug off and wire it to the pos post of the battery.

What he said. Not a big deal to connect direct to the battery.
