Travel trailer tire recommendation?

Hi!
I know that I am ready for some new tires on my travel trailer (a Cougar 25
TDS). I know of Goodyear and Maxxis but has anyone had experience with Greenball? Trailer King?
I want to make a good decision but I don't want to have to get a loan from the bank!
I have Trailer King tires on there now, which I am not very impressed with!

Thanks so much for your replies!

Recommending a better quality tire for a trailer depends on the trailer OEM size and load range.
The only ST tires I would recommend are the newer gen higher speed rated in this order,,

Provider
Carlisle HD
Goodyear Endurance

Maxxis ST 8008 has too many reports of tread loss/tread delam /other issues to match the performance of the tires above.
AS others say don't cheap out on tires for a road trailer.

2 of the 4 Trailer King tires that came with our TT just blew apart within about 50 miles of each other on a trip, they had less than 4000 miles on them and were less than 1.5yrs old. Just replaced all of the tires with Goodyear Endurance's.

Get these. Get your axles aligned.
I bought 4 of these before my 7000+ mile trip over some really crappy roads between SW Idaho and Key West this past summer.
Then another 1200+ mile round trip to Oregon coast. And other shorter trips
good stability in cross wind, good durability.
Ask for solid air stems in case you wish to use external ( stem mounted) TPMS sensors.

Goodyears are cheaper than trailer repairs after cheaper tires blow out and shred your floors and siding. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Goodyear Endurance.

I had what look like very good condition 3 year old Hercules ST2 tire blow out. I have a fiberglass trailer and it did a small amount of damaged to the gel coat in the wheel well, and ripped off the mudflap.

Put the new GY endurance spare on (it had a very old Marathon I knew might not hold up if put on the ground). Went to the tire store, bought another GY Endurance to replace the blown one.

After trip, got home, started looking, tire in front of blown one had wires embedded in it. Scrap. From the other side one tire had cracks in the bottom of the tread grooves running all the way around, Scrap. The last tire looked OK, so I put it on my 5x10 utility trailer that rarely gets more than 20 miles from home (that is where the Marathon also ended up, and surprisingly its still holding up sitting outdoors)

I have 5 GY Endurance, and PEACE OF MINE knowing I have the best ST225/75R15 tires I can get. Have made numerous 600 mile round trips, and one 3600 mile round trip. I have them on 6 inch rims. Most 15 inch tires are 5½ inch rims. I had to change the hubs to 6 lug and bought new Sendel wheels (which I planned on anyhow), and the tires are "happier" on the wider rim. Doesn't pull the sidewall in so, tread lays flatter.

Until something else comes along, Or I get something with 16 inch rims I can run LT tires on, Endurance is the word of the day.

Charles

We run Sailuns on our 21K lb. toy hauler. I had a new set installed February 1st out in Tolleson, Az. Six tires were around $1300.

https://rvoutsider.com/sailun-s637-v...20tread%20life.

The way I am is if I do not have an issue with tires I stick with the brand when I need to replace.

For our Veteran's out there, thank you for your service! You might not know but any veteran is eligible to purchase tires through the VA canteen. I picked up 4 good year endurance tires delivered to my local dealer for about 400 bucks.

I got 24k out of my Goodyear Endurance before they wore to the point of needing to be replaced so I was not super happy with that.

I replaced them with Hankook Vantra trailer tires. Same specs as the GY and similar price. Made in Korea. Have 1800 miles on them so far (mostly highway), all during the huge heat wave we had in the west last year and they handled great. TPMS didn't show any significant temp changes even then. I was impressed.

I'd be thrilled to get 24 K miles with mine. I've got about 11 k on them now.
