Yes but only if the vent's varmint screen is plastic. If it's plastic as it was on one of our past TTs, mice, chipmunks and squirrels can enjoy a meal of it, enter the fridge compartment and do a great deal of expensive damage to that fridge, interior walls wherever they can get. It cost me a fridge some upholstery along with some wall repair - over $1500 in DIY costs, mostly for a new fridge plus the many hours to do the necessary repairs.

It is good to check that it is clear of any obstruction, birds nest, Critters living in there.

Like everything on the roof, make sure seals are in good shape.

Should be four screws on top, they may be sealed with Dicor or silicone. Dig out the sealant and remove the cover. Seal all screws and around vent base with Dicor. The covers get brittle and are cheap from any RV supply so replace and seal screwheads with Dicor. Mine had a sneaky crack that let the water pour in during a storm.
