we have had a tt and two fivers.
I would have to vote for a fiver for full timing,
even after a long day of driving, you unhook and enter a totally new atmosphere,
plus being 6'3" I find theheadroom in a fiver very desirable,

but if i jumped into mh, it would have to be a grand sport dynamax hmmmmmm

A comment on earlier comments. I currently own a fifth wheel. I have had two class A motorhomes prior. The class A's had much more storage space than the fifth wheel, also, unhooking the Saturn we used as a tow car was much easier than unhooking a trailer. Economically, however, there is no contest.

We started out in a tent in ' 65, went to a 8' Tent Trailer in ' 67, went to a 15' Tent Trailer in '69 , went to a 20' Travel Trailer in ' 71, went to a 22' TT in ' 75, went to a 28 TT in ' 84, went to a 34' TT in ' 87 , went to a 27' Motor Home in ' 89, went to a 36' Motor Home in ' 95 , and here we are to stay with a 2003 5er.
What great times we've had !
The 5 er is the easiest to tow, and a snap to drop and hook. Must admit it takes a little practice to back up compared to a Travel Trailer.
Happy hunting

We have a TT and enjoy having everything on one level. The ceiling height is 6'8" so you do not feel claustrophobic. I have a color video camera mounted to the license plate with a monitor in the truck that I use for hitching up. We really like having the truck bed available for use. The cost for our TT is substantially lower than an equivalent 5'er and is much cheaper than a coach. I have never pulled a 5'er but have had no issues with towing my 35'8" TT. I have an electric jack so hookups are a breeze and the W/D bars and sway bar are no more trouble that unhoooking a toad from a MH.
