TT shopping - FL road trip?

We purchased our first TT used from a friend 15 yrs ago (Sunline 24'). Loved it but it is done. We are in the market for a new (or new to us) TT. Is it worth it to take a road trip to the big FL dealers in terms of saving money or selection? Would that be a problem with warranty issues? We are near Washington, DC.
TIA!

We searched every dealer within 1,000 miles from us to find an in-stock trailer we wanted. Only a couple we willing to negotiate price. Both in Indiana. I’m guessing it’s because the Indiana dealers are close to the manufacturers, and can get their hands on desirable models faster than other dealers. Therefore their turnover is higher, and they can sell for lower price. We paid $5,000 less for out Micro Mini than we could get get from any other dealer. Had to drive over 500 miles, but it was worth it. Spending the money we saved on upgrading our camper.

In 2011 I stayed the winter in Crystal River Florida with the goal of finding an RV. I went to the Tampa Show and will say it was a very large show. I found a leftover 2011 Sunnybrook Bristol Bay 5th wheel in early 2012 at Harbersons RV LLC (they are now out of business)Pasco County right off Route 19. There is a huge Lazy Days in the Tampa area. Florida is a meca for used and new RV's no doubt.

There are dealers all along route 19. From Homosassa Springs toward Tampa.

If you do not know what you are looking for then I say yes. Lazy Days has everything and 10 years ago would let you look at your leasiure. Google RV Dealers near Crystal River. Take a on-line look and decide for yourself.

For me 10 years ago - yes it was well worth it.

In our sells contract there was wording that stated "buyer must return unit to dealer for warranty work." So before you buy read it carefully, if there is any wording similar to this then you will know what to expect.
Also if looking at a new unit some manufacturer will pre approve a mobile tech for some repairs. Heartland pre approved a mobile tech for us when we discovered a bad water leak (water heater inlet had developed a leak) and could not get it to the selling dealer.
Some dealers do not do warranty work on units they do not sell, RV's are not like the warranties on a car/truck. If they do you may be placed on the bottom of the list, behind their customers, and definitely behind the cash paying customer.

Before you sign anything you have most of the leverage. Work any warranty wording you want to change before you buy. Make the wording conditional to you buying.
