The trailer aid worked great for me.
I've got some muscle disability, so works well.
Also bought a a 18 volt impact . Will take off the lugs very good .

Type of jack for changing travel trailer tire

I had a blowout the first time I rented a TT from Ft Bragg. I was five miles from home, and I didn't even realize it, another driver alerted me. I used the scissor jack in my truck and the socket and breaker bar I had brought with me. Fifteen minutes later I was back on the road.

Flat tire on a tandem axle trailer

I sold my motorhome and went travel trailer last spring. Luckily I bought a spare tire before my first trip. I was only a mile from the campground when the rear drivers side tire on the trailer blew . I pulled over to the shoulder right away and didn't damage the rim. I was only about 50 ft from a side road so I backed onto the side road. I pulled the front tire onto a 4X4 block which raised the rear tire off the ground. I have a cordless impact wench. I changed the tire in about 15min and was back on the road. It was a used trailer and I hadn't check the age of the tires. They were all over 10 yrs old with plenty of tread. I replaced them all when I got back home with new ones. The tire that blew looked like new, however, looks can be deceiving.

I have the Anderson Rapid Jack (extremely hard plastic rounded wedge) and tried it out a couple of weeks ago. No flats, just a test in the driveway. D.W. put it under the rear wheel of my 34 1/2' Toy Hauler and I slowly backed up till show told me to stop. I got out of the truck and looked and I had 1 - 1 1/2 inches of clearance under the wheel that I wanted to lift off the ground. I'm still going to carry my 12T bottle jack, since I already have it just in case there would be some unforseen problem with getting the wedge to work.

video on flat tire

Search "You Tube" for rv flat tires. There's a great video on how to handle a flat on a trailer and MH from a school. I learned a lot from watching it. Mainly to step on the gas to get control of the rig first. Than slowly slow down. never knew that. They show you why in the video. Bottle Jack might be fine on a light rig, but I'm making my own from the boards I use under the landing jacks. There's a video on it there also. I love "You Tube. If a guys found a new way to fix something or bang you head against a wall, it's posted there.

The ramp won't work, what is the solution?

Pretty clear that the yellow plastic ramp isnt going to work on common leaf spring setups (definitely not ORV suspension). I'm not a big fan of bottle jacks, although they work. So is their a better solution nowadays?

20T bottle jack.A little overkill but I already had it for lifting big stuff. Practiced on the TT but have not changed a tire yet.

Aluminum bodied racing floor jack. Low, fast and gets the job done. Luckily have never (knock on wood) needed it for the TT, just the snowmobile trailer.

I carry a 12 ton bottle jack, a big 4-way, breaker bar and torque wrench to put it back right. I always jack under the frame and use a built-up board stack to get the jack up enough before starting to lift and to provide a stable jack base. Since I do my own wheel bearing service, etc. I use this setup on a periodic basis. Floor jacks are nice, but for something I don't plan on using on the road it takes up a lots of space and weight IMO. The bottle jack is the same one I carry in the truck on a regular basis, so double duty.

If your axles have been flipped, don't lift on the axle tubes, go for the frame.

jack for fixing flat on TT

I use the Anderson plastic jack that lifts one tire off the ground. they look like the big red levelers. I have fixed a flat using this and is was very easy. I use a socket wrench and after fixing flat make sure you do a torque to insure nuts are tight. Only cost about 30 bucks and is well worth it.

I used a quick change tire jack as shown for my boat trailer. It goes under the axle of the tire you need to change, but with some of the replies I have read the TT axles may be too weak?
