Using 50A progressive surge protector with 120 outlet

Hi Folks. I'm back to TTs. The Monaco Class A was just too big for our needs. Sold it and just bought an ORV Timber Ridge 23dbs. With the class A, I used a 50A progressisve surge protector when connected to shore power. That was an expensive piece of equipement and I kept it when the coach was sold. My TT will be stored indoors where I only have 120 outlets available. Is there any issue using dog bones to go from the 120 outlet to the 50A surge protector to the 30A receptacle on my TT? This would mainly be used to keep the batteries charged up. I don't see any info on this in the manual.
Thanks for the input
Bill

I have a dogbone that will go from the 50a plug down to a 120v (standard wall plug) and have done that when in storage at relatives. My PI surge protector is hard-wired so power was going through it at the time. We just make sure to shut down the AC units before plugging it in.

I have used our 50 amp Progressive Industries EMS when connected to 20 amp and it works fine.

You will not need you EMS while on 120 volt storage power. Just buy a 20/30 dogbone.

Let the flames begin!

If you don't need an EMS on 20 amp outlet, I guess you don't need it on 30 amp. They are both 120 volt supplies.

I was referring to where the service is. Storage is most likely not overused and not in poor condition. And chance not mush if anything is turned on.

the EMS devices measure and react to voltages, not amperage. the voltage that they monitor is the same whether the circuit is 20 amp, 30 amp, or 50 amp. they will detect improper wiring based upon voltage, not amperage.

so bottom line. if you want to use it and have the proper adapters, go for it.
