Vanity repair

Our bathroom vanity fell down last year. Any tips on how to re-hang it? We have a Keystone Cougar TT. Worried about screwing into the walls even though that looks like how it was ungrateful originally. Think they screwed into studs??

Get a stud finder and find if there is anything in the wall to screw into. There may not be. I am presuming you mean the medicine cabinet as the vanity usually sits on the floor with the sink in it. My unit had triangular cabinet in the corner that had two out of 14 screws going into something solid. Good luck finding something solid.

It's important to use the correct screws with a cutting bit tip (see photo).

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-7-x...-Count/4313215

Campers are built with very light wood and regular wood screws, like deck screws, will split the 2x2 or 1x2 studs.
The cutting bit will minimize splitting to almost never.

Even if you think you may be screwing into aluminum studs I would advise using them.

Only the L & R exterior walls will have aluminum studs.
And at any critical spots there should be a 4" strip of metal laminated in-between the interior paneling and the foam insulation, to give the screws something to bite into.

Driver bit and screw head type aren't super critical but the one pictured is typical of the ones used by most RV manufacturers.

Yes, I meant the medicine cabinet. Will try to find these screws and use a stud finder. We are going to use 30lb mounting tape as well for extra strength. Thank you both!

I think I would buy the right sized wall anchors and use the same screw and holes that were used originally. I have had very good luck doing repairs using the plastic wall anchors.
