Walk around bed vs fixed bed running width of trailer
Newbie here dreaming about our future TT. We have found an awesome company in Millgrove, Ontario, Canada, that builds small TT from scratch using all wood products. The purchaser gets to choose their own layout!!! The company is Taylor Coach. I'm deciding between walk around bed or fixed one running width of trailer. Any experiences I should know about?

Interesting blast from the past. Nice looking small time producer. Looks like a logical step up from a pop up. Are they local to you?

If you are talking about a version where the bed sits crosswise (head of the bed against a wall) and one side against the front or back of the trailer I don't recommend it. Our first trailer had that type of bed layout and one of us was always having to climb across the other. It got to be tiresome and was one of the reasons we upgraded to a bigger trailer with the bed sitting lengthwise and walk round on the foot and sides.

We've traded boats for that reason, and from that learned that we ONLY wanted a walk around bed in the RV.

Walk around bed will provide better access making the bed too.

Wasn't an option for us. Our TT has a king bed that's the full width of the inside of the TT slide. Making it isn't a problem. Since we only use it for camping, we still go with sleeping bags. We have been in a king bed for 20 years at home, so it was that or separate queens in the TT. We like our space, but we also prefer sleeping together.

Yes, actually. About a 3-minute drive from our house. I'm very impressed with their product!

Walk around all the way. I can't stand having to roll over SWMBO or having her roll over me to get out of bed.

Well around hands down. Easier to make the bed, more residential, and inside person does not feel trapped.

Also prefer a walk around bed for all the reasons listed above.

Well, depends on who if anyone you are sleeping with and whether you want the inside person climbing over you....IMHO.

These decisions are never in a vacuum. What would you use the extra space for if you didn't have a walk around bed? Bigger bathroom? Add a couch? Or just a shorter trailer?

Walk around is the only way to go. Just try to be on the inside when you have to go the bathroom in the middle of the night! Think about it. Then try to make the bed in the morning. Those beds should be outlawed. LOL
