Old-Biscuit - First, Thank you for your service. Second, that explains a lot. Too many people today give up if there is not an app on their phone to help them out. I have work with my hands all my life and done most my repairs and a lot for other people. Currently I am an construction inspector for my community which I have done for 30 years. You learn a lot through the years and as I indicated earlier, it is nice that you are so willing to share that knowledge with others on this forum. I am looking forward to dewinterizing my TT and I am sure the people we travel with. He is not so smart and needs a lot of help. Good thing is he will provide the beer. Safe travels.

I have a similar thought process OB. I am an IT Engineer. I have always been curious about how things work, and try to DIY whatever I can, part in curiosity, part in saving money. $700 and a full day for rear disc brakes? No thanks. I converted two 7.3 PowerStrokes to run on used cooking oil. I love my career and it keeps me challenged. I now have three busy kids and have migrated to asking others for simple or well known things, and the what not to do's just to save time. Because I have certainly wasted a lot of time : )
My current project as I have time, building my own li-on battery for the TT. They are easier to maintain, i understand them, and I have a couple hundred in my basement. I would love to have it placed in my box for the year but have to get more figured out so will probably just go with 2x 6v batteries for now.
Do to my nature, minus a leak, I find it hard to believe the WH is broken and needs to be replaced. All the individual parts in there seem to run $100 or less.
This is why I love forums, good people, nearly all like-minded

So the fuses appear to be ok, visually anyway, I will probably still need to take a meter to them. Anyway, I have no lights, LED's, or noises. If I flip the switch inside by the sink, the LED doesn't light, I assume its supposed to. Could this be circuit board problem, or is there a better chance power isn't getting to the unit?

Your Atwood G6A-8E uses 12V DC for controls
Fuses should always be tested/verify DC on both sides
FUSED 12V DC to the On/Off Switch inside RV
RED Fault Light comes on when Flame fails to prove it lit....but have to have attempted to light ie: DC to spark electrode and gas valve
Follow the DC
1) DC to switch
2) DC from switch to 'thermal fuse' (inside the clear tubing) to T-stat and then to circuit board (BROWN Wires)
***Thermal fuse is a one shot fuse that Blows when exposed to 190*F (Flame blow back from dirty/obstructed combustion chamber)
***T-stat Opens at 140*F/Closes at 110*F for reheating
3) DC from circuit bd to ECO then to Gas Valve (RED Wires)....12V DC on this circuit only for 6-8 seconds while Spark electrode is firing (CLICK< CLICK)
***Flame lights off/PROVES it lit via Flame rectification and signal generated is sensed bu circuit bd then DC will remain on ECO/Gas Valve circuit until interrupted by T-stat opening
3 attempts to light/prove and then FAULT Light is triggered and 'lock out' occurs (BLUE Wire) To reset turn switch Off---wait 30 seconds---turn ON
Voltmeter and follow the DC to switch to circuit bd to gas valve.
2A fuse on circuit bd

Thanks OB, so, looks like i need to test fuses, and start taking stuff apart. I tried to pull the switch, but cant get it out, feel like im going to break it, is there a special way to pull it?

I never have good luck trying to remove them and reuse cause I always seem to break the tabs that hold them in the panel
I usually just test that DC from fuse is good and then with switch ON test that I have DC on Brown Wire to thermal fuse.
IF No DC on Brown to thermal THEN I struggle with the switch
If DC on Brown to thermal fuse then I check for DC to T-stat
No DC to T-stat....remove thermal/reconnect Brpwn to t-stat and check for propane operation....if it fires up ----buy/install new thermal fuse

An 'App' is something you eat while drinking beer...sometimes called 'Hors d'Oeuvres' in fancy circles.
Examples could be;
Mozzarella sticks,
Nachos,
Sometimes if I'm feeling racy, jalapeno poppers...

Thanks, that all makes sense. I will try tackling that tomorrow!

the reason for filling the tank is so you don't burn out the electric element with no water in the tank. Turn off the electricity, remove the electric wires and read continuity across the connections. With an ohm meter it should read about 12 ohms I'm told. I do an A/C test but that is not for DIY's. There probably won't be a 12 volt fuse for just the WH. It may have other things with it. Some have all individual fuses some combine things. Fridge, furnace, hood vent combined on mine.

OPs water heater is GAS only...electronic ignition.
No AC/No element

Ok, so on my switch, I have blue, gray, red and white, and then green and white wire colors. I assume the green and white are a ground?
I assume the gray and red/white, and green/white to be ground?
If I meter the gray and red/white I get nothing
If I meter the blue and green/white nothing
Metering the blue and red white I get 13v
Metering the gray green/white I get 13v with the switch on
So, switch good?
