Water holding tank sanitization
I have never used the water holding tank on my 2018 trailer. I just never had a need. So, the question is: should I put a sanitization solution in there so no crappy things grow in the tank. If so, WHAT? I live in North Carolina where the winter is milder and I do use an anti- freeze in my water tank and leave in in year around.

You need to do a clean out and bleach procedure on the tank. I generally bleach our tank twice a year.

You never have stopped at a rest stop or Walmart parking lot, and needed to flush the toilet?
I guess if you just always run a city water connection, flushing the tank would just be for the benefit of the next owners.... lol

Yes, I would sanitize it. I would not ever think about not killing the germs. I never drink from the tank but I do not want to even shower with germs in the water. They might get in my eyes and ears.
I put only a little bleach (1/2 cup) in the tank then fill up with water. I run all the faucets. Then let it sit ovenight. Then drain using the low point drain. Then I am ok for the season unless I use untreated water. If using untreated water I use 1/4 cup of bleach in every tank full.

If you just follow the instructions in this link, it really isn't a difficult job.

No never, when we stop is just to eat & fuel. We use the venue's restroom. Why not?

Thanks to all for the advise. I just wasn't sure about the bleach affect on the tank.

The better question is WHY? Why should you use a facility that you do not know how was maintained or who has used it, when you have one that has only been used by yourself? Do you not use the RV's kitchen, or do you always eat out? Why do you have the RV? You're missing some of the greatest values of RV'g if all you use it for is to get from here to there.
