Water tank outlet repair

I found my leak. The female threaded outlet has split.
Looking for advice. Do they make a repair kit for this?
I have seen the Spin on welding fitting. Its only $1.50
But the tools required are expensive.
Hopeing I dont have to bite the bullet for a new tank.
The only good news is we are permenant in a RV park with water.
Down side is they have frequent leaks and turn the park water off for an hour or 3 at least once a week. Its handy to have the freshwater tank full and available as a backup.

thanks for all the advice

Dave

I'd use a soldering iron to "weld" that fitting back together. Clean with water and a toothbrush first. Then probably coat the whole thing with a JBweld type epoxy, one for plastic if you can find one. Should last the life of the RV with a little luck. Do you think that fitting got hit? or just vibrated till it cracked?

Thanks for the response. I followed your idea, Cleaned it up well and melted/solder the entire joint best I can. Followed that up with a base coat of the JB Weld Plastic. I'll let it set and apply a 2nd layer tomorrow.
I'm gonna straighten out the routing of the hose, Coming from an angle I believe just put sideways tension on the joint. Trailer hasnt moved.

Hope this works

Dave

I think I would change the adapter to a straight one if you have room and install a longer hose to remove all tension. If that fails, before you install a new tank, see how much an experienced plastic welder would charge to install a new nipple.

the plastic weld epoxy would have been enough to fix and hold that better than factory.. I have used that lots and its stronger than the original material..

I was going to suggest a pce of extruded foam between the hose and tank to take some pressure off.
