Hello all,
New member here! I didn't even think to look for a battery when buying my new TT. I am a first time owner and do not have a users manual and could not find one online. What battery should I buy please?

I installed two Group 24 from Walmart in my 2010 R-Vision. Both are connected to Blue Sea dual battery switch.

It ain't gonna happen. The manufacturers usually don't print anything, of just a couple of pages of generic stuff. Winnebago motorized RV's have some of the best manuals.

Make a list of appliances by brand and model and do online searches for PDF copies of the manuals for those individual items, then download them and save all of them to a thumb drive.

The rest of the RV is rather generic, water goes in, poop comes out, electricity goes in and (hopefully) lights come on.

Best bet is to find a person with a fair amount of RV experience or a local, traveling RV repairman, and pay them for a hour or two of instruction.

Since you don't have any baseline expectation or historical experience of what you need, my vote would be to start with one or two inexpensive marine batteries (whatever the existing box holds) and go from there. Consider them "training" batteries, something you use to get your feet wet and experience the boundaries of performance that they offer. You may find them perfectly adequate and life is good. If they're an abject failure then you'll have a good data point to consider what you'd want to change. I would offer that if you don't have a battery monitor (separate from the nearly worthless gauge on the RV's status panel) then I would recommend one of those too. Doesn't have to be a expensive one, the $20 ones are a good start.

Go with a true deep cycle battery. Your battery box needs to be measured. It will probably only fit a group 24 size battery. I changed out my box to fit 2 6 volt deep cycle that are in series. That gives a lot more amp hrs. I would think about modifying if you need to replace anyway.

They make batteries in different sizes. Group 24 is small, Group 27 is medium and group 31 in large. The price difference is small between the groups. Get the larger one, you probably will need a bigger battery box if it will fit. If you do not have the room then you are stuck with a group 24.

Look into getting an AGM battery. They are better then just a flooded battery and will last longer.

They are a little better and may last a little longer but at 2x the price you don't get 2x the service. If you need/like AGM then they are a good solution but otherwise flooded LA has more bang for the buck.
