What does the blue stud indicate?

Each wheel has one stud with blue markings on the end. What does it mean? I lined up the valve stems with the blue studs

Nothing critical of a technical nature.

Might have been marked by wheel installer to reference while tightening lug nuts.

Or to act as a starting point when counting lugs.

Or to act as an ending point when counting lugs.

Or as a strobing mark if somehow the hub was being rotated and someone using a stroboscope was confirming the rotational speed.

I’ve got more of you need them

But the reality is - they mean nothing.

I'm curious why you removed the wheels.

Many commercial truck tire shops.... or a tire store that know how to balance a tire/wheel assy on a trailer for best miles of service will match mark the end on one lug then mount wheel with the valve stem at that lug.
Then spin balance the wheel assy (tire/wheel/hub) while on the trailer. Trailer hubs don't come machined balanced like a automotive hubs on our trucks.

If the wheel is ever removed then to keep that balance the match mark and the marked lug/ stem will ensure a the best balance.

Rotate one lug off and that perfect balance is gone.

Or the blue mark only says this wheel has been torqued. So that when it comes to final inspection they are just looking for the blue check. DR
