I use a product called "awesome". Buy it at Dollar Tree stores..
It is a concentrate. I mix a couple ounces of it to about 10 ounces of water.
It removes bugs much better than anything else I have tried, which includes WD-40......

I usually spray it on, let it set a couple minutes. Spray again and then use a sponge/scotchbrite cleaning pad. Cleans em right up and leaves the RV looking great.

I find that if I wait until there's a cool damp day and I spray down the area with bugs, wait 10-20 minutes, they come off with most any cleaner.

If it's hot and dry, clean ASAP before they dry up.

Better yet, is there something I can apply to the front of the trailer before a trip to ease the cleaning issue?
I've owned three truck campers and three 5th wheel trailers over the years. Before making the first trip I use Maguiars cleaner wax on the front cap. Bugs come off with hose pressure.
I repeat the procedure 2-3 times a summer. With the trailer hooked to the truck I stand in the bed (plus a 3 step ladder) make it easier...
Worst mess was a honey bee swarm with my first truck camper in 105 degree temps the mess was baked on. I found a gas station that the mgr let me hose the truck and camper for 5 bucks. It took a full 30 min to get the sticky mess off with a high pressure water hose.

I agree with keeping the front waxed so bug guts come off easier. But this takes multiple waxings a season or every other month if full time.

I tried WD40 and dryer sheets. Both kinda work.

But the last few times I paid RV detailers to clean my RV. I have them wax the front each time they clean the RV. $400 is what I usually pay.

I posted a similar question on another RV forum and here is what was replied by the members there:
recap of what I've read in the replies:
(in no particular order of preference)
* Dryer sheets (used and wet)
* wet towels on the surface for a bit to loosen the guts then water and a brush
* Blue Beacon truck wash ( but not following a stock truck !)
* Reliable 1 Spray All purpose cleaner
* Bug Slide Spray
* Superzilla Spray
* Lucas Slick Mist Spray
* The Solution waterless wash
* Bug Scrubber Sponge
* Microfiber rags / towels
* Driving Backward or get a Taller Truck!

I tried the dryer sheets, but they didn't give me satisfactory results.
I purchased a bottle of the Lucas Slick Mist Spray from a local auto parts store because it was $4 cheaper than Amazon, even when considering the gas needed to go and get it.
I purchased a microfiber bug sponge and with a little effort and judicious spraying with "oil Eater" I got the front of the rig clean. That stuff will take grease, oil, bugs, tar, those black lines under your windows and most other organics off, if you wait just wait a little bit for it to work.
The front fiberglass surface was pretty dull so I applied the Lucas Slick Mist and shined it right up.
Of course, there were bugs on the front when I returned from a trip to the Oregon Coast. I washed with regular car wash soap from Meguires, and with the microfiber sponge, about 90% of the bugs came off. I sprayed a little more of the Lucas Slick mist and the rest wiped off, No extra elbow grease required.
It may work for your situation as well.
Good luck with your choice.

You've gotten lots of great suggestion for getting bugs off. For the future, treat the front of your rig with Rejex. It will make removing bugs much easier in future trips.

Expensive stuff, at least on Amazon it's $24 for 12 OZ.
I would hope a little bit goes a long way.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take it into consideration when the Lucas runs out.

I've not heard of these. Where are they found? Can you share a picture of the package?

spray 9 or fantastic are the best products i have used for a cleaner on both bugs and other things such as tires and rims... Spray it on and start washing and the bugs almost rinse right off with little to no work
