Where to install solar vent for composting toilet

I am new to the forum and think I am posting correctly, forgive me if I am wrong. I am looking for advice and ideas. We bought a homemade TT/pod/"tiny house" to use as our kitchenette and bathroom on our land. No electricity and we haul water. I am installing a Nature's Head composting toilet and a solar vent. If I install the vent in the wall, I will have to cut a 3 1/2 inch hole through corrugated metal siding....not looking forward to that. If I vent through the roof I will have to cut same hole through TPO roof/1/2 inch playwood. Can that be sealed well, without compromising the TPO roof? Which would you do and reason? Thanks.

I hate all the hats and mushrooms on a typical camper, or rv. I would go for a side wall, but
hope it is the side away from the door and not near any windows, if you go high up on the wall I would think it would be OK. Heck you could even fashion a snorkel to raise it over the roof if needed. Yea membrane issue would be the main reason I would go out the side wall. If it were a metal or fiberglass sheet roof then roof would be the choice for the exhaust which I imagine is small compared to the huge bumps on the typical vents that we all put on our rigs.
