Window Seal Help

My first post since joining.

I've recently purchased an old 1980 Alpenlite RV trailer and some of the window seals are like in the pictures, pulled away at the corners.

I went to a local RV trailer accessory store and they told me that they cannot order what I need, it's so old.

Surely there is someway of re-sealing this. Anyone have a clue?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new trailer!!

Measure the gasket then do an internet seach on rv window seal gaskets to find one that fits from sources such as this https://www.all-rite.com/catalog-mai...s-gaskets.html. Order sample(s) first to verify it fits. That is what I do on older boats.

I am not an expert...
I think the piece you are showing is not a seal. I think is window glazing that is used to hold the glass in place more or less. The seal should be butyl tape between the glass and the frame behind it. You should be able to look at a good part of the glazing and find take some measurements and find a replacement on the internet. At least this is how my window works.

Ok, thanks for the correction on my terminology.

I had the same thing on my 2013 travel trailer.

Maybe I did not do my windows correct but I used permatex sealant and it is still working after 3 years. I went to an auto parts store to buy the permatex.

I used to existing window seal and just glued it back with permatex. I did not replace the window seal ....again just glued it back in place with permatex.
