Awning replacement material, vinyl or acrylic?

Replacing A & E Dometic awning. Any pros or cons with the different materials?
Shadepro has both. Tough Top only HD vinyl.

Wondering if the vinyl will roll up or be too stiff.

Thanks
Dan

Stone Voss sells the very best. Vinyl is warranties 8 years, acrylic is ten years. If you’re in real wet climates go with vinyl.

My A&E acrylic awnings with aluminum covers are going on 25 years. Probably out live my old Bounder.

If not acrylic what do you consider a "good" fabric?
Acrylic (sunbrella) is the gold std for boat "canvas" and survives 100% sun exposure. I've had boat tops last 10-15 yrs with annual cleaning & retreating w 303 fabric guard water repellant.
The weakest link is typically the stitching, but newer thread matls are guaranteed for life of the fabric.

Woven acrylic is the way to go. Awning are aluminum covered, but 10 years old and look fine.

If you can get the aluminum shield covering when rolled up. It was worth the extra cost for us.
