Barker 42 gallon tote along

Hello all. I just purchased a Barker 42 gallon tank and knew it was gonna be a tight fit under my waste valve if my trailer. Just dry fit it in my driveway and the tank inlet is about 1 inch under the trailer waste valve outlet. My question is am I going to have an issue filling the tank by moving it a foot away from the trailer outlet. The 42 gallon would safety hold the whole 40 gallon black tank, which is why I got it instead of the 32 gallon. If it is not good I would rather return it before I try to use it.

Thanks in advance, joe

That's the way I do it. No problem.

I have the 42 Barker. I use a DIY mascerating pump to transfer to it. This way the tank can stay in roadway, back of a truck, wherever. No dragging it through the grass, gravel, etc.

Good luck moving it.......think 1/2 full would be enough...and you could always raise the trailer a little......just for dumping...

You could park the camper on 2X6 boards to raise it up some. Another option is to dig a hole for the wheels to fit into and lower the blue tank. A full blue tank of 42 gallons will weigh +320 lbs.

This is all new to me. Would I be better off exchanging the tank for the 32 gallon one?

I've got the 42 gal model and use a macerator pump. So I leave the tank in the truck's bed and transfer it. Then at the dump station just use a standard hose and dump it. Very easy. It does not matter how far the dump station is this way.

I wouldn't. Just that one time you get distracted and overfill the 32 gallon tank you will wish you had stayed with the larger tank.
If the terrain around your site is difficult to pull the tank through you can shut the drain valve off and pull just a half tank around.

Thanks everyone.
Last trip we went on they had no sewer hookup and we stressed all week about not filling our black tank and having to pull back in to a spot that was tricky to get into. Hopefully this will be our solution.

We carry a 5 gal pail w/lid for the rare times we need to bail out the waste tanks. The pail is also used for vehicle washing and anything else needed (cleaned of course). The pail also doubles to store cleaning rags.
The tote is a big item to carry and store on a RV.

I'm not sure why you don't just use a sewer hose with 2 female connectors to drain from the black tank to the tote. Even if the black tank outlet is lower than the tote input, you can still "walk" the waste water down the hose and into the tote.

You can tow that tank some on good surfaces. If you need to go any distance over tough road towing the tote good luck. That is why I just carry it in the trucks bed. I can’t lift 42 gals in to the truck thus I pump it problem solved.

This is exactly what I want to do, was just worried about the top of the tank being too high. I was hoping to avoid having to "walk" the waste. I have to walk the hose at my house and it is such a pain, but the tote would be a lot shorter run.

Thanks
