I have a camp chef 2 burner explorer cooking system with a cast iron griddle and grill. Works awesome and burners can be adjusted easily for elevation changes, very versatile and has built in legs. I often use it with a dutch oven and just leave off the griddle or grill. The drawback is it is bulkier, heavier and more expensive than the blackstones and napoleans but more versatile, more consistent heat and much better made. I have had both and really wanted to like them but both were returned.

The problem with many of the camping grills is they do not have any protection over the burners and therefore they become clogged with fat in short order, requiring them to be cleaned out which is a tedious and messy job when camping.

I also carry a small weber charcoal grill but may well stop as it cannot be used in a lot of locations through the summer due to fire risk.

I really like the legs as I am not a fan of cooking on a campsite picnic table after seeing too many dubious uses.

We have the 17’ griddle and wouldn’t want anything larger in the Blackstone line of griddles for camping. We leave ours out on the table 24 hours a day camping and have never had any problems with items getting stolen.

We use the 17" camping. I purchased the folding lid for it. Protects it from rain and is great for melting cheese.

Just found this thread. Hope y'all don't mind me resurrecting it. My signature gives my RV make and model.

I removed the outside kitchen for more storage space. We never were ones for outside kitchens, just outside cooking. The induction top was just to close to the paint when the kitchen was extended to suit me.

So, after purchasing the BS 22" Adventure my dilemma was to store it. After some pondering I did this: Measure the griddle and parts for height, then 2 2 x 12's cut to fit the left and right side of bay, 1/2" plywood for the top. Ever thing just rests in place. The "runners" for the griddle are to clear the feet of the griddle from possibly wiggling a hole in the flooring.

The griddle slides in and the base slides in with a little clearance for BBQ tools. In the picture below the item on top of the griddle is a folding end table. The folding stand is on top of the plywood and all my outside folding chairs are on top of that and the plywood.

In regards to thieves, I leave out outside and unattended and have never had a problem. I am careful of our surroundings but in all the years we have never had anything taken.

I hope this thread continues on.

I like your set-up. Nicely done.

Part of our initial arrival routine is setting up the grill (not a BlackStone in our case). I also leave it out unattended. However, I use a Python cable lock to secure it to the site's picnic table.
