How did you re-enforce the bumpers attachment to the frame?

To answer questions posed so far.

Tow vehicle rating is 11,440 lbs. So OK here.

Tongue weight is still with 10-15%, it went from 565 lbs to about 715 lbs (dry weight is 5320)

The bumper is the thinner 3/16th wall frame mounted. I have placed 100-125 lbs max upon each frame rail. I think I am OK but will keep looking for a failure point and may consider upgrading the rear bumper.

I chose to go over the top with chains snugged down versus thru the handles. My thinking was if the just sawed thru the plastic handles they could walk the generator under the chains. Here they have to saw the ears off of it to do so then they will find that the frame is blind bolted to the tower. Yes locks keep honest people honest.

When you go over a bump as found at the end of most interstate bridges, you will add at least 50% more load to each frame rail. I strongly encourage you to have a welder add an angle iron attached to the frame. When it fails, you might not have an opportunity to make changes.

Cheers

Almost all locking devices are more for peace of mind than anything. But now, cables can be dealt with very quietly, with a small, non-powered, concealable device.

At least the chain requires bolt cutters, that are at least suspicious-looking when toting around. I still often use cables, too, but more and more often--I just use insurance and luck.
