Levelmate Max

Hi y’all

Anyone know what the issue is with the Levelmate Max? I have been holding off purchasing until the Max is available which was July 2024 but now it has been pushed to Oct 2024 according to website. Just wondering if it is “supply issue” or are they still working out the bugs?

Just curious will probably just end up getting the pro

Save your $. These work just as well.

An RV need not be absolutely level...if the humans are comfortable then the RV will be fine

I’ve had the LevelMate Pro for 3 1/2 years and I use it regularly all year round - once or twice a month. I love it and have had no issues. Works seamlessly and I’ve only replaced the 2032 battery once in all that time. Earlier versions had a battery problem because the unit wouldn’t shut off automatically. Mine shuts off after about 45 minutes, preserving the battery. It’s regularly on sale at Amazon.

Not sure what the Max version is offering. I believe the original inventor has sold his business. Unless the Max has bells and whistles that are important to you, I can vouch for the LevelMate Pro. I wouldn’t leave home without it! It has saved me an enormous amount of time, especially as a solo traveler. I know instantly the most level spot in a campsite, and how much I need to raise one side if not level.

Except that, no, they don't work "just as well". One of the points of a levelmate type system is they provide you an accurate readout while you are sitting in the driver's seat, or standing outside the vehicle, which is useful for a variety of reasons. The good old bubble target level does nothing of the sort, so it certainly doesn't do that "just as well". And clearly the OP realizes that.

Disclosure: I don't have a levelmate and don't see the need for one, but pretending a bubble level works like a levelmate makes no sense and isn't particularly helpful.

I like Levelmatepro because I can pull into a boondocking site and find a level-level spot by setting the phone on my knee and driving around. If I have a long pull through I can tell I pull through slowly to find the levelest spot. There are campgrounds I have been in that just moving a few feet forward is the difference between having wheels off the ground or not. Before I shut off the engine, I know if I need to put blocks under the wheels or the jacks before leveling and how many blocks. To me it worth the money.

Because I’m such a fan of the LevelMate Pro, I was curious about the LevelMate max and what it offers that the pro does not. The best I can see is that it runs off of three AAA batteries while the pro runs off of one 2032 battery. it claims the AAA batteries will last longer than the 2032. Since I got 2 1/2 years out of my 2032 battery with fairly regular use, I’m happy with that result. Personally I’d rather carry around a couple of 2032 batteries than many AAA batteries, since it takes three each time it needs changing.

The other difference, according to the LevelMate website, is that the new version gives you a tone when you’re level. Personally, I don’t see the advantage to that. It’s quite obvious when I look at my phone when I’m level.

The new version also has the ability to turn the unit off from your phone, rather than turning it off from the unit inside your RV. I see that as a minor plus, but something I wouldn’t pay money for. If I forget to turn off the unit, which I often do, it automatically turns itself off.

But perhaps the biggest difference, if I’m reading it correctly, is that the max will automatically determine level the first time you use it, whereas with the max you need to first level your RV, and then set that as being level on the LevelMate Pro unit. You need to do that only the very first time you use the levelmate, and then never again. It wasn’t a big deal.

But the biggest difference is, the max is not available! I don’t see any features of the max that I would wait around for.

I have the level Mate Pro and it has a cable to plug into a USB brick and a 120-volt plug. I never replaced my battery over the last two years of usage. I have mine on all the time and turning it off is on my storage checklist.

Well, we used the bull's eye level for 36-seasons to get level or close enough for govt work. The bull's eye level works just fine.

Yeah like I said I will probably go with the pro since it is in stock. I have research them as well and liked the fact the max can find its own level.

I agree bubble levels work and can be used to get your rig level but when I pull onto a site I don’t want to get up and down a hundred times to check if the spot is even close to level. Will save a lot of time finding the best spot to be on the site.

Thanks Everyone for your input.

You are missing the point, I fear purposefully.

You'd be wrong. Our bubble level was on the drink caddy between the seats. Adjusting the coach so the bubble was in the center was, usually, pretty easy. No getting up and down. As mentioned getting the RV petectly level is not necessary.

That's a set it and forget it with the LevelmatePRO. When it's installed you manually level the coach to how you like it and push the button on the app that tells it "From now on you will consider this to be level." That's it. I've never reset mine in four years.

And yes, we use it while positioning the motorhome so I have no idea what they are talking about saying that is a feature of the Max. Probably a marketing thing.
