We live about 30 miles from Dave and LJ's, good people and have had work done by their father before they bought him out.

Craig --

We saw the MCD motorized auto shades on a Newmar Essex whose owners were in a CG we visited in Maine in early October and invited us in for a chat and coach tour. We were really bowled over by the motorized shades.

We had manual MCD shades in our motor home then, and loved them (except when two of them got stuck in the fully retracted position), but when we decided to move up and order a new build coach in late fall, we chose the motorized auto shades.

Expensive, yes, but really terrific as that one, big over-the-top option.

An update to my 2011 post above. Due to the expense of the MCD shades, we did postpone changing out our entire coach's shades. Last summer MCD came out with a Gold series day/night shades that run about 25% less than their original American Duo. The Gold's day shade (black) material is slightly different & the shade is hemmed slightly different than the AD's ; however, the cloth/vinyl night/privacy shades are the same. We purchased those & are very happy with them.

You can also get the pricing for the Gold Series, by clicking on the tab to the left once that page opens from the link above.
