I stumbled across a new product, a four-step entry for my trailer called RV EZ Steps. The manufacturer is a local man in the town where I work, that is producing these steps. He is a very small operation right now, but I suspect it will soon be a very hot item.

Nice for a semi-permanent location (e.g. seasonal site) but a bit much for travelers, I would think. Great for those who need a handrail to assist with entry.

Actually Roamer, the way it breaks down, no single piece weighs more than 25 or so pounds. Like you said, it would be great for a long term stay somewhere, but I'm going to check it out. They make three styles, from a two step to the four step, and to fit anything from a motorhome to a fifth wheel.

To add a little more the description of the steps, they are put together with stainless steel bolts and wingnuts, so they require no tools to put together/take apart.
Mine is ready now, but I'm out of town, but I'll have it by Memorial Day and I'll be able to report more after that.

Well I used the new steps this weekend and loved them! Even my wife said they were okay.
The set up and take down was very easy, about ten minutes each. No problems at all with getting everything set up and in place. We seemed to track less into the trailer with the threee steps and one large "porch" area to knock off the dirt and debris that was on our feet.
All in all, I think its a great product and recommend them to anyone.
