Yes, projector lights can be the best. (Different quality levels available).
Here is my experience:

There are multiple things your post brings to mind:
Projector housings (they are not "light bulbs" but are the lens for the bulbs) provide better use of the light from the bulb. Most also use an electric solenoid driven "gate" that puts a sharp horizontal cutoff so the light doesn't bother oncoming traffic when in Low beam. The gate opens for high beam.
The bulbs are another topic. Best would be Bi-Xenon for light. But more expensive and more complicated electronics to install (relays / ballasts). LED is the recommended upgrade as typically the install is easy, and the light CAN be better than stock.
There are a zillion different LED bulbs. You generally get what you pay for.
A relay wiring system might help ensure whatever bulb you install gets full battery voltage that aids output.
So, sequence of decision: See if you can get a projector housing for your RV. I had to modify a non projector housing to install a low beam projector lens which was a lot of fiddling around. If you can find a projector housing, then that will dictate what bulb style.
With the bulb style, get a LED bulb for that style.
www.theretrofitsource.com has good quality stuff and have provided me good customer support. Not the cheapest but good stuff that is culled from the thousands of not so good stuff you can buy cheap.
Determine what color (degrees Kelvin) you want. Yellow, white, natural sunlight color or blue.
Get a relay wiring kit for your existing bulb connectors.
You can also add Fog and / or Driving lights to further increase illumination. Hella is a quality brand.
Aim all lights as per DOT requirements.
Its a System that has to be engineered as a system (all things selected together).
Enjoy the nighttime.
