Porta Potty chemicals - now that the formaldehyde based chemicals are not available

I have an off site shop without any plumbing (large garage at a rental). I use a porta potty as a urinal. Adding plumbing is NOT an option. For the past two decades I used various brands of porta potty chemicals. I found that pretty much any brand that contained formaldehyde and alcohol in the ingredients worked well. I typically bought a gallon of tank chemicals at a time - might last up to a year. Unbeknown to me California outlawed the use of formaldehyde in this application and all the manufactures reformulated nation wide in the past couple of years. The new stuff is just not as effective. Dumping the tank is rather smelly now even though the new formulations frequently have an intense fragrance/scent to "deodorize" (mask the waste scent).

Anyone have experience with any of the new products (sold in the last two+ years) that works reasonably well? If only I would have known of the impending change, I would have bought a 10 yrs supply of the good stuff while it was still available.

we've had very good results with Happy Campers but the best thing you can do is use plenty of water.

I have good luck with Odorlos over the years... I have always purchased the tub. The chemical granular and dry, and there are no perfumes.

I have camped over a week in Florida summer heat and have not experienced any holding tanks odors. I have bought it over the years from Amazon, Camping World and even West Marine. So its widely available.
