Progressive 30 amp EMS

Can a hardwired EMS be backfeed without letting the smoke genie out?

How could that happen ?

Since it checks incoming power it shouldn't close the contacts, from power on the outgoing side.

How would you do this? Do you mean wired backwards?

No...I wired the trailer with a 30 amp service from the front so that when I'm on the road I could power up trailer at a night stop with the genny in the truck bed.....the cable ties in after the EMS and was curious if I didn't turn off the main breaker would backfeeding the EMS kill it....the new cable is on it's own breaker...

So no transfer switch. If the PI EMS wasn't there the shore power make plug would be hot.

You will be energizing your rear power cord to. That's not so safe.

Add a auto transfer switch with both shore cords running to it and then to the surge thing.

I got a 30 amp ATS for like $30

Yes it would if I forgot to flip breaker off.....CRS factor, but also trying to make this an easy thing for my kid when he gets this unit...Wouldn't be powered up ever with land line connected.....desert traveler mostly, or rest stops...

I would of connected the front cable to the input of the EMS, but the lugs aren't big enough....New cable is 10 gauge and with the house type wiring there just isn't room..so, if the EMS isn't being fed power thru it in the normal direction, will backfeeding to the out end hurt it?....I've Emailed Progressive, but haven't heard back....
