Quick Pressure Direct TPMS

Does anyone have any experience with a direct TPMS like Quick Pressure valve caps which have a red, yellow and green indicator in the valve cap which indicates the tire pressure. It seems to me to be a easy way to check tire pressure during a walk around at a rest stop without the expense and set up aggravation of multiple sensors and display unit.

I have used those on a car about 15 years ago….they only go up to about 36psi

They were also unreliable as I remember.

My advice….get a real TPMS !

When I did a search, I discovered the cheap ones I used long time ago…..and then the “quick pressure” brand which seem better made.

Yes, the quick pressure seem better made, however, one tire blowout which could have been prevented is not worth the savings generated by getting these versus a real TPMS.

I really wonder how easy it is to see the color band in the little cap. Looks like you might have to get down on hands and knees to check each one.

The other issue is you won’t be notified of a leak happening while you are driving.

If you get them, report back how they are working.

If you need 65 and 80 psi, GREEN/RED INDICATOR valve stem CAPS, you can order 65 and 80 psi

They won't notify you while you're driving down the road! No substitute for a good TPMS!

I did buy the 65/80-psi caps for mine, but never installed for fear of keeping valve depressed, and similar fear for the TPMS I bought... go figure; had a leak, resulted in flat at first stop 200 miles into MY maiden voyage, caused by a loose mounting nut on a steel valve stem (had been on there over 2,000-miles .... go figure?)
