Replacing Rear Stabilizer Jacks

After two years my rear stabilizer jacks have been taken a beating. I ordered a new pair. I also order a SaveAJack set of quick releases so I can remove the rear jacks before moving the trailer.

I will use PowerPole connections between the jack motor and the power switch wiring.

Removing the jacks will improve the clearance at the very rear of my trailer to prevent dragging. My parking location at my home is on a decomposed granite pad that has a bit two much initial slope after the sloping curb at the edge of the pavement.

I bent and removed 2. I now use screw type jack stand thingys, they stack nice. 4 online cheap. Aluminum, don't rust. When the other 2 go, ill use the other 2 screw things. I use a 3 tone jack to level then use blocks and jacks.
If and or when I sell the camper, ill have to replace the normal jacks.

I spent about 3 hours today on the Save-A-Jacks and replacement stabilizers. I bolted the removable part of the Save-A-Jack to the each of the new stabilizers. I removed the motors from the old stabilizers and installed them on the new ones. I guess I chose well because the brackets fit the new stabilizers perfectly. I had to use my grinder to cut off the old stabilizers from the supporting steel on the trailer. I then changed from the cutting wheel to a grinder wheel and ground off the remaining stuff so it was flat again. I sanded remaining rust let it cool and gave it a few coats of black paint. I bolted the Save-A-Jack bases to the freshly painted steel and installed the removable stabilizers. Works well.

I will use a couple of pairs of 10 AWG SAE connectors to reconnect the removable stabilizers to the switches. I have an area for the stabilizers in a storage area that is accessible from an outside door.

I gained about 6 inches of clearance by using removable jacks.
