Which silicon adhesive did you use? I'm a bit hesitant due to the mirror loosening up and the gps getting broken when it hits the floor.
I believe it was GE Silicone sealer/adhesive (clear). It comes in one of those squeeze tubes. I'd be more worried about getting something off if you no longer want it there than having it fall off. As long as the surfaces are clean this stuff should not fail. I've used it for external applications and the attached items are still there after years of exposure to the elements. Since you can use a bead of it you have a little "wiggle room" to level up the mirror and it will harden that way. The mirror was an eBay buy.

This is what I use (GPS no-slide gel "Nav-Mat II) and has never moved. The back side surface is sufficiently tacking to hold to my dash. Had if for close to a year now. Even bounced it down the ALCAN.

Bought mine at a truck stop for $24.00

GPS receiver - antenna. FM transmitter volume accessory. No-slide gel mat and bean bag GPS dash mounts.
I'm wondering how you managed to get the 3+1/2 inch suction base of the RM7710 to adhere securely to the Nav Mat 2 which has a disc of 3"

I wet the suction cup and push the lever down.

Once adhered you can't pull it off without pulling up on the lever and using the suction cup tab to release it.

The plastic disk is actually 3 3/16" the suction cup measures 3 1/2" on the money

Close to 12,000 miles now it hasn't moved a bit.

The edge of the suction cup hangs over ~ 1/8" to 3/16" depending on haw well I center it each time. If you look at the picture of the pad without the mount attached you can see the impression of the suction cup in the soft gel material.

I'm using the same base shown in the photos and I've had no problems, no special procedure to make it stick.

By the way, walk into any Best Buy and they'll have a dozen options, from "bean bag" to the Nav mat and many more.
