I've heard from talcum powder to a plethora of spray on products. I've only used spray on products in the past, but was wondering what the very best product is.

I usually use the slide seal in a can. I have also heard to use baby powder and just sprinkle it on and wipe it smooth. Good luck on sprinkling it on a vertical seal. Sprinkle it on a dry tack rag and wipe it on. However,I seem to remember my owners manual saying not to use anything.
Corn starch. For vertical seals put corn starch in squeeze ketchup bottle. Shake bottle, hold upright and squeeze the "dust" out onto the seal. Works well without "over powdering".
