Storing Generator w/gas in & Gas Canister with gas in Pick Up Bed under Tonneau Cover

I have my generator w/gas in it and a 5 gal gas canister with gas in it stored in my pick up bed under a black tonneau cover in the Texas heat.

I'm concerned about safety.

The generator - gas in cap on. Any concerns?

The gas ganister gas in cap loose as per the instructions.

We live in Florida and travel extensively out West. Getting ready to head out to Colorado again in a few days via the “southern route”. Our Champion 3,400 Watt inverter generator lives in the back of my F150 (tied down and with a cable lock) and when we head out five gallons of gas will also be back there under the tonneau with it. We have not had any problems doing this.

My Honda twins live under a tonneau with the open to run caps closed. No problem.
I tried the extended run tank (boat motor gas tank) under the tonneau with it's cap closed (yeah, it's a pre epa molested tank) but the huge heat expansion was concerning. I opened the cap to relax the expansion and didn't like the smell. So now the tank rides strapped to the trailers rear bumper at the intersection of the weak bumper and frame strut. No expansion worries, or smell.
