Towmate Wireless Lights

Used this on our Grand Cherokee for our trip to Winter Garden Fl. Worked flawlessly even during the wind and rain on the trip there. Recharged the unit after arriving and it worked as should on the return trip home. So glad we got this unit. Nice thing is if we trade vehicles I won't have to wire the toad.

HAGD,
Alex

I'm interested in wireless toad lights. Where do you get the Towmate lights?

Bought mine on ebay.
I also requested the 7 pin RV connector and it was supplied at no additional charge.

Alex

nice units but to me kind of pricy. I made a unit that is basically a t to fit in my reciever hitch. Two LED tailights bolted on to a piece of 1/4 inch flat plate. The pieces of flat plate are welded to a piece of 2 inch outer diameter square tubing. The square tubing is welded in a t to another piece of 2 inch outer diameter square tubing which has a hole drilled for a pin. The lights are wired to a 4 pin trailer electrical connection. The wiring for the electrical connection runs under the car to a 6 pin connector at the front. I have another connector to connect from my MH 7 pin connector to the 6 pin connector at the front of the car. I Probably have 100.00 in materials. 2 hours fabrication time. I realize that if you have to have a welding shop fabricate it then probably will be back in the cost of the wireless. The advantage to the wired system i see is you do not have to worry about a battery dieing while you are driving or having to recharge every day. I have an extra wire in my wiring harness for running power to the battery on the toad to keep it charged. I can remove the entire system from my vehicle and the only thing you see is a small 6 pin connector at the front.

I have a set of Blazer C6304 wireless LED trailer lights for my toad, about $105 at Amazon. NH to FL three days still on the same batteries headed to TX and still going strong. What ever you get should be DOT approved.

The sending unit is mounted on the hitch frame out of site and I keep it there all the time. Added a wire tie to as a safety to make me feel better, not needed but I felt better.
